The Department of Systemic Cell Biology (Prof. Dr. Bastiaens) at the Max Planck Institute for Molecular Physiology in Dortmund is seeking to fill asap
Two postdoctoral positions.
The main goal of the research is the development of a morphogenic membrane system that mimics a living state of matter.
Postdoc position 1:
Reconstitution of adaptive morphogenic membrane vesicles
Postdoc position 2:
Artificial transmembrane activators of signaling
These positions will work as a team to integrate signal receiving and transducing as well as morphogenic modules in a reconstituted membrane system to generate an artificial “cell” that by recursive interaction with other artificial cells defines its identity.
Applicants should be highly motivated, creative and independent and have an excellent academic track record including a PhD in life sciences. Essential criteria are experience in protein biochemistry and/or biophysics and high proficiency in English.
The positions are initially limited until July, 31st 2020. Financial compensation will be carried out according to the public service remuneration scheme TVöD.
The Max Planck Society is committed to employing more handicapped individuals and especially encourages them to apply.
